Personal protection in hot climates
General educational guidance. Follow the approved product label and competent authorities in Sudan.
Educational illustrations with updated explanations. Follow the approved label, safety data sheet and competent authorities in Sudan.
Start with the label and task
Select PPE from the product label and safety data sheet for the task. Illustrations are examples; one glove or mask type does not suit every pesticide.

Inspect gloves and clothing
Check for holes, cracks and wear before use. Use product-compatible materials and replace damaged PPE. Do not reuse contaminated clothing until it has been cleaned as instructed; dispose of it instead when required by the instructions.

Eye and respiratory protection
Use required eye protection. A required respirator needs the correct type, filter, fit and training. Cloth or dust masks do not provide general protection against vapours.

Cleaning and storing PPE
Follow manufacturer and label cleaning instructions. Keep contaminated laundry separate and warn its cleaner. Dry PPE and store it in a clean place away from pesticides. Wash hands before eating or drinking.

Protection in hot climates
Schedule work for cooler hours, with shaded breaks and clean drinking water in an uncontaminated place. Increase breaks or stop work in extreme heat. Keep required PPE on in exposure areas; move to safety before following removal and cleaning procedures.
