Protect containers during handling

Avoid impacts, punctures and drops. Trained staff should use suitable handling equipment. Piercing a drum with a fork is unsafe and may cause leaks and exposure.

Spills: isolate the area and get trained help

Keep others away and alert the responsible person. Never hose down a spill or push it into drains. Trained responders should follow the label and safety data sheet, using compatible equipment and absorbents and collecting waste for approved disposal.

Prepare for emergencies and fires

Keep verified local emergency and nearest health facility contacts, an evacuation plan and clear exits. In a fire, move away, warn others and call firefighters. Trained responders select firefighting methods and contain contaminated runoff.
